WE ARE

HOW WE WORK
To bring about the kinds of changes that will help people live healthier and more productive lives, we seek to understand community inbalances. Whether the challenge is poor access to healthy food in a Chicago neighborhood or high drop out rates at local school , we listen and learn so we can identify pressing problems that get too little attention. Then, we consider whether we can make a meaningful difference - either through our influence, our resources of amplifcation, or through funding platforms.
Our strategies and focus across the Generation Good foundation — have emerged through this process of identifying what we want to accomplish for people and communities where we can have the greatest impact. Once we commit to an area of need, we define our major goals and identify a clear path to achieving them.
HOW WE WORK WITH THE FIELD
The issues we engage in are diverse, but they share the characteristics of being deeply rooted, complex, and in most cases not solved easily and quickly. We understand that many will not be solved through our efforts alone - it takes a GENERATION OF GOOD work.
We strive to do all of our work in collaboration with partners who join with us in taking resposibility, pushing for new processes, and harnessing new solutions that is the transformative power of Generation Good. We work to engage with public and support our project partners/ leaders in a real way built on trust, true open communication, and transparency is a must. Our collective efforts also depend on the support and resources of the private sector, communities, and individuals.
We may even engage with local goverment officials if necessary.
HOW WE DEVELOP STRATEGY
In each of our areas of focus, we develop goals and strategies before allocating time, resources, or making media allocations or investments. We continually collect and share data on our progress, reflect on lessons learned, and make course corrections as needed. Essential to this process is the ongoing dialogue with our partners and the Generaton Good community donors.
HOW WE MAKE INVESTMENTS
Within each strategy, which has an allocation of resources, we collaborate with partner organizations to develop proposals that align with our strategic priorities and the organization’s focus and capabilities. An important part of this process is reaching agreement on what success will look like for the investment.

"Action expresses priorities."
